Some quotations from Letters to Sam - Daniel Gottlieb

"Missing feels like a sad spot in my heart. It feels so much better than when I was angry with her, or worse, when I didn't let myself feel anything about her. Missing means I love her."

"And I discovered that when people are kind and helpful, it makes them happy.
But only when you stop pretending you're brave and strong do you allow people to show the kindness that's in them".

"Giving to others is most precious when it is done quietly and selflessly".

"After all, pain is an emotion, and no emotion stays forever."

"no matter what happens to our bodies or our minds our souls remain whole."

"If you fight the right battle, in the right way, the outcome can change not only your life, but also the lives of others."

"Healing takes place in its own way and in its own time."

Time...

Add to Memories Share
You know the Prophet of Islam had said;
"They are two blessings many people lose: (They) are health and free time for doing good".

TIME.
that's all we have, right?
we work round the clock, pressured with deadlines, projects, meetings, exams isn't it?

Oh well, imagine a bank credits our account each morning with $86,400. It carries no balance from day to day, allows you to keep no cash balance and every evening cancels whatever part of the amount you failed to use in the day.

What would you do? Naturally, draw out every cent right?

Well we all have a bank like that, its name is TIME. Every morning it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off, as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest in good purpose.

Thus brothers and sisters, invest in it to make the utmost of health, happiness and success!! The clock is running.

Make the most of today.

To realize the value of ONE YEAR ask a student who has failed a grade.
To realize the value of ONE MONTH as a mother who has given birth to a pre-mature baby
To realize the value of ONE WEEK ask an editor of a weekly newspaper
To realize the value of ONE DAY ask a daily wage laborer who has kids to feed.
To realize the value of ONE HOUR ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.
To realize the value of ONE MINUTE ask a person who has missed a train.
To realize the value of ONE SECOND ask a person who has avoided an accident
To realize the value of ONE MILLI-SECOND ask the person who won a silver medal in the Olympics!

TREASURE EVERY MOMENT YOU HAVE!!!!

Thanks
How little do we use this word?
Yet, how much gratitude does the receiver educe from it?
Do we realize?

Tonight I am greatly thankful
To a friend who has always since I met him shown me the way to bring out the joy in another.
To see that light of happiness from the recipients eyes.
It brings about immense joy.

Birthdays indeed are times we rejoice.
Rejoicing is good, it keeps us happy.
Happiness brings about longer live.

It's truly a blessing to be able to celebrate your birthday!
Why so?
One may ask.
How many infants die before they are even born to this earth?
How many babies pass on before even celebrating their 1st birthday?
Isn't it than a blessing I ask?
Fortunate we are?
What a mercy, that we are still living and breathing, aren't we?

We celebrate the progression we have made.
We celebrate all the times where we helped another, given to another, and forgiven another.
The times we laughed and smiled.
The moments where we turned and continue turning the life of others, just by simple words of advise and affection.
We celebrate and pray for a longer life to continue turning those gifts we are given, to gifts which we give back.
Why than do some not want to make birthday celebrations important marks for their closed loved ones and dear friends?
Today I see, why we should!
I am indeed grateful and I am glad my family celebrates birthdays and make it a time of happiness.

I will end of this short note:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY DEAR FRIEND RAYSON!
HAPPY 20TH :)

Gifts of life and Death!

Add to Memories Share
 We all come from dust
And we all return back to dust.
 What an irony!

 Are we prepared?
 Prepared to return?
 Death awaits us all.
Each second, each breath, each step we take, is a step closer to our Death!
It's a reality brothers and sisters.

How often do we contemplate the beauty, the blessings the gifts we receive?
What we make of those gifts and how we turn them around is our gift back.
Are we than living that sort of life?
Or is it just a nominal routine of tasks, daily affairs, personal issues.
Neglecting the affairs of others who may just need your ears.
To listen to them, to talk to them, to help them.
Is that too little to ask for?
Why are we so selfish? So self centered?
What good will all these materialistic items/objects have on us?
Perhaps, a temporary pursuit of happiness within, as an outer image to others?
But is it really happiness within? Ask yourself. It's you, you only, you know yourself best brothers and sisters.

I hope, so sincerely that before I say this message I would take it upon my very self.
My very own brain, hands, limbs, ears, eyes to start and help and turn those blessings into gifts.
Gifts which I would be happy to see, sow afterwards.

 Well, besides I always and will always believe;
You are richer today, after you laughed, given and forgiven.

Simple yet powerful, Easy yet difficult.
 We have to begin.
 Begin somewhere.
 Begin tonight.
 :)

Me, myself, I

My brother advised,
"Nabil, sometimes in life to reach your goal and to head towards it, you have to dissapoint others along the way, you have to learn to say NO and stand up for yourself". Otherwise, Nabil you will be living each day, for other people and sooner or later you will start to drift away from your goal from that actual purpose of life.

Let me tell you, just as a canoenist, your goal is that destination is that point right ahead...THERE!! Keep that in mind, you will be pulled away strongly by the water current on one side, and the wind on the other side, it will continously push you left and right, but each time you swing back to aim at your destination (goal). And then the harder you stroke, and stroke, but your vision remains, your goal remains.

A little prayer

Add to Memories Share
"O my Lord, make useful for me what you hath thought me and teach me knowledge that will be useful to me."

It's a lovely day, a bright and beautiful one. A day, to start something meaningful, purposeful. So why wait? Let's begin, let's begin NOW my friends. Each time, I sit by myself, in a room fully silent, I hear the ticking of the second, how much time are we going to let tick away before we realise we age?

May this day be a day, where I am able to make full use of, after having a proper rest, a wonderful meal, the warmth showered by my dear ones.

Cheers
Nabil
